A Voice From Within

A crash was felt, the sky grew dark, a cloud of smoke encompassed Battery Park.
Lady Liberty watched from across the bay as her children were attacked in a dramatic display.
Washington was the site of a third cowardly act. By then it was evident America was under attack.
A fourth act of terrorism was on a mission but heroic Americans refused to bow to submission.
On this tragic day filled with terror and fear Lady Liberty stood defiant and shed a silent tear.
Twin towers lay crumbled but Old Glory still stood, a testimony to America's strength and brotherhood.
Her strength won't be found in concrete and steel but deep in our hearts where emotion is real.
We fight amongst ourselves; that is what families do, but hurt one of our brothers and it's a day you will rue.
When push comes to shove we stand hand in hand to protect our freedom and our God blessed land.
Our country was built on blood, sweat and tears; no terrorist act can instill chronic fear.
Our forefathers fought to set us free. We'll fight to the death to defend Liberty.
From around the globe the immigrants came. Liberty beckons them all with her golden flame.
It's not money or buildings that stand straight and tall but four precious freedoms that compel us all.
Freedom to worship and speak, freedom from want and from fear will channel our strengths through the upcoming years.
For our precious freedom many have died. We honor them all with American pride.
We've worked very hard to build the lives that we live. When evil strikes, we will never forgive.
It tries to break us, we merely bend; then we rise up stronger ready to defend our country and our brothers as we pause to pray
May God bless America and the American way.
